Tour Itinerary
Day 1 TASHKENT

Arrival at Tashkent Airport by flight from XXX. 
After passport and customs control you will be met outside of arrival hall. Transfer to hotel for check in and rest. / Standard check in after 14:00  / Overnight at hotel.
 

07:00-09:30 Breakfast at hotel. Check out from hotel before tour starts. 
10:00 Tashkent – The Capital of Uzbekistan, the cosmopolitan city in the heart of Central Asia, the crossroad of cultures and the Great Silk Road. Tour in the Old Part of the city:

  • Khazrat Imam Complex, Khazrat Imam Mosque, Barak Khan Madrasah, Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum, Tilla Sheikh Mosque and Museum with Koran of Caliph Othman 7th c.; 
  • Chorsu Bazaar; Kukeldash Madrasah and Djuma Mosque from outside;
  • Museum of Applied Arts based at mansion of Russian Diplomat; 

Continue day with tour of modern part of Tashkent:

  • Independence Square, Memorial of Victory, Romanov’s Mansion
  • Monument of Courage, Amir Temur Square; and Tashkent Metro;

Overnight at hotel.

XXX Transfer to airport for flight to NUKUS at XXX 
10:00-12:00 Tour to World Famous Museum of Savitskiy, which has 2nd largest collection of Soviet Avant Gard in the World, precious pieces of Archaeology and Ethnography of Karakalpakstan. 
12:00-13:30 LUNCH IN NUKUS
14:00-19:00 Depart to Khiva, through the land of Ancient Civilization, 270km 5-6hrs. 
Visit Toprak Kala, Ayaz Kala and Kizil Kala fortresses from II cc BC to III cc AD. 
Continue to Khiva, arrive to hotel, check in and rest. 
Overnight at hotel.

Guided Tour in the splendid historical part Ichan-Kala, UNESCO Heritage site:

  • Muhammad Amin khan and Muhammad Rahim khan Madrasah;
  • Kalta Minar, Kunya Ark, and Museum of Zindan; 
  • Mausoleum of Saint Pakhlavan Makhmud, and Shergazi khan Madrasah, 
  • Minaret and Madrasah of Islam Khodja, and Djuma Mosque,
  • Allakuli khan Madrasah and Caravan Saray, and Tash Khauli Palace and Harem;

After tour free time to explore backstreet of Ichan Kala.

Breakfast and check out from hotel.
Start the journey to Bukhara through the Kyzyl-Kum desert, the second largest desert in Central Asia after Kara-Kum, 450km up to 8hrs. En-route enjoy a panoramic view over The Amu-Darya River. Stop in local chaykhana – roadside café for tea and picnic. 
Late afternoon arrive to Bukhara, transfer for check in to hotel. Time at leisure. 
OPTION 2 
Transfer to Railway station for the train to Bukhara / 08:23-13:30 ONLY on TUE, FRI, SUN

Breakfast at hotel. 
Explore one of the oldest cities of Central Asia with history over 2500years. Guided walking tour: 

  • The Ark Citadel, and Bolo-Khauz Mosque,
  • Kalon Complex consisting of Minaret, Mir-Arab Madrasah, and Mosque, 
  • Madrasah Of Ulugbek, and Madrasah of Abdul-Aziz khan, 
  • Chor Minor Madrasah; 

LUNCH BREAK. Lunch – Pilaaf master class at National house. 
Continue tour with: 

  • Trade domes: Zargaron, Telpakfurushon and Sarrofon; 
  • Bukhara Medieval Hammams and Magoki – Attor mosque, 
  • Lyabi – Khauz complex: Nadir Divan Begi Madrasah, Khanaka; Kukeldash Madrasah;

Check out from hotel and start guided tour. Today explore off beaten track sights of Bukhara: 

  • Samanid Mausoleum, and Mausoleum of Chashma Ayub,  
  • Bahouddin Naqshband mausoleum and complex. Naqshband (1318-89) was the founder of the most influential Sufi order of central; 
  • Summer Palace of last dynasty – Sitorai Mokhi Khosa Palace, built to host family of the Romanovs, some of the objects are exclusively were brought from Russia. 

Return to city, Explore markets of Bukhara, known as a part of the Great Silk Road. 
Depart by Coach to Samarkand - City of Glory of Tamerlane, 280km 5hrs. En route visit: 

  • 12th c Caravanserai Remains and Sardoba – water reservoir; 

Arrival to Samarkand and transfer to hotel for check in. Time free at leisure. 
Overnight in Samarkand hotel. 

Breakfast at hotel. 
Depart via Takhtakaracha Pass to Shakhrisabz, the hometown of Tamerlane. The trip will be on sedan cars/ vans / SUV. Arrival and guided Tour includes:

  • Ak Saray Palace of Tamerlane, 
  • Dorut Tilovat Complex: Gumbazi Saidon, Mausoleum of Shamsiddin Kulal, and Kok Gumbaz Mosque of Ulugbek; 
  • Dorus Saodat Complex: Hazrat Imam Mosque, Djakhangir’s Mausoleum, Temur’s crypt.

Return to Samarkand, and visit:

  • Silk Paper workshop from 9th c technology revived by local craftsmen and masters; 

OPTIONAL visit: National Costumes Theatre “El-Merosi”/ ENGLISH INTRODUCTION, DURING THE PERFORMANCE NO SPEECH.

Tour of the capital of the Great Empire of Tamerlane, The Rome of the East: 

  • Gur Emir mausoleum, men burial site of Timurids;
  • Ruhabad mausoleum from outside;
  • Registan Square consisting of Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillya Kari Madrasah;
  • Bibi Khanum Mosque, once the largest Mosque of Central Asia; 
  • Colorful Siyab bazaar, gathering sellers and farmers from the area;  
  • Shakhi Zinda Necropolis decorated with mosaic, terracotta and majolica; 
  • Museum of Ulugbek observatory with the original part of sextant, center of science in the 15th c; 
  • Museum of Archaeology of Afrosiab, which was destroyed by Genghis Khan and holds unique frescoes from the 7th c;  

Overnight at hotel in Samarkand.

Transfer by coach to Tashkent, 320km 5hrs. the road goes through picturesque view of Uzbekistan. 
Arrival and check in to hotel. Time at leisure. Overnight at hotel.

07.00 Transfer to the station to catch the Express train to Kokand (08.07-12.13)

Upon arrival Kokand Guided City Tour: 

  • Khudayar Khan Palace and museum
  • “Tomb of the Kings” - Dahma-i-Shakhon Mausoleum, Modari Khan Mausoleum, 
  • Narbutabek Madrasa, Djuma Mosque with beautiful ayvan 
  • Visit to Rishtan town, and workshop of Ceramics;  

Continue to Fergana (90km), arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Time at leisure.
Overnight in Fergana. 
 

Breakfast at the hotel.
Depart to Andijan, the hometown of Zakhiriddin Babur, founder of Mogul Dynasty in India. Few monuments left from older days in this town. On the way to Andijan visit:

  • Kuva town and its historical part, during the excavations the statue of Buddha was found here along with remains of the temple. 
  • Remains of Mingtepa settlement – ancient Ershi, the capital of Davan Kingdom. 

Upon arrival to Andijan tour:

  • Djami Complex consisting of the Mosque and Madrasah;
  • Bobur Park and Museum at Bogishamol;

Return to hotel in Fergana, time at leisure. 
Overnight at the hotel.

Check out and start tour of Fergana city:

  • The central part of the city with Colonial period buildings; 
  • The local lore museum; 

Further we leave for Margilan to visit: 

  • The famous Silk Factory, where the total process of silk transformation can be observed. 
  • Madrasa of Said Ahmad Khodja, currently served as craftsmen center; 
  • Local Daily Bazaar and Mausoleum of Khodja Maggiz; 

14:45 Transfer to the Railway station for the train to Tashkent / 15:30 – 21:03
