Tour Itinerary
Day 1 TASHKENT

Arrival at Tashkent Airport by flight from XXX. 
After passport and customs control you will be met outside of arrival hall. Transfer to hotel for check in and rest. / Standard check in after 14:00  
Overnight at hotel.

Breakfast and check out from the hotel. 
Tashkent – The Capital of Uzbekistan, the cosmopolitan city in the heart of Central Asia, the center of Silk Road culture. Start guided Old City tour:

  • Khazrat Imam Complex consisting of Kaffal Shashi Mausoleum; Barak Khan Madrasah; Tillya Sheik Mosque; Museum with Koran of Caliph Othman from 7thc;
  • Chorsu Bazaar; and Tashkent Metro; Amir Temur Square, and Monument of Courage; 
  • Museum of History of Uzbekistan; 
  • Independence Square, Victory Memorial, Duke Romanov Mansion;
  • Alisher Navoi Theatre Square and Broadway street,

XXX Transfer to domestic airport for flight HY051 to Urgench as per timetable.
Arrival at Urgench Airport and transfer to Khiva 35km, an ancient capital of Khorezm (Khwarazma “The Land of the Sun”).  Upon arrival in Khiva, drop the luggage at hotel. 
Guided Walking tour to the splendid historical UNESCO site – Itchan-Kala Complex:

  • Muhammad Amin khan Madrasah and Kalta Minar, 
  • Kunya Ark, Museum of Zindan and Muhammad Rahim khan Madrasah, 
  • Mausoleum of local Saint Pakhlavan Makhmud, and Shergazi khan Madrasah, 
  • Minaret and Madrasah of Islam Khodja, 
  • Djuma Mosque with 218 columns; 
  • Allakuli khan Madrasah and Caravan Saray, Tash Khauli Palace and Harem.

Enjoy your free time to take a walk through the old streets of Itchan-Kala.

Start the journey to Bukhara through the Kyzyl-Kum desert, the second largest desert in Central Asia after Kara-Kum, 450km up to 8hrs. En-route enjoy a panoramic view over The Amu-Darya River. Stop in local chaykhana – roadside café for tea and picnic. 
Late afternoon arrive to Bukhara, transfer for check in to hotel. Time at leisure. 
OPTION 2 
Transfer to Railway station for the train to Bukhara / 08:23-13:30 ONLY on TUE, FRI, SUN
Train schedule is under changes of Uzbekistan Railways decision.

Guided City tour in Bukhara, the old center of Tajik culture, where locals speak the dialect of Farsi. Explore one of the gems of architecture, the center of Mediaeval Education. 

  • The Ark Citadel, palace of rulers;
  • Bolo-Khauz Mosque, with beautiful ayvan and columns; 
  • Kalon Complex consisting of Minaret, Mosque, Mir-Arab Madrasah, 
  • Madrasah Of Ulugbek, and Madrasah of Abdul-Aziz khan, 
  • Trade domes, centers of business: Sarrafon, Telpak Furushon, Zargaron and Abdullakhan;  
  • 12th cc Magoki-Attor mosque, known as the most ancient mosque in city; 
  • Lyabi-Khauz complex with Nadir-Divan Begi Madrasah and Khanaka, Kukaldosh Madrasah;

Time at leisure. Optional: Enjoy a cultural performance in the evening in old madrasah.

Spend another day in this marvelous city of the Silk Road. Thousands of caravans and people wondered the vast territory of Central Asia aiming to reach Bukhara and its markets. Explore outskirts of Bukhara, spiritual and Russian Heritage sites:

  • Samanid Mausoleum, and Mausoleum of Chashma-Ayub, 
  • Local Daily Market of Bukhara, here you will see daily life of people and city; 
  • Summer Palace of last dynasty – Sitorai Mokhi Khosa Palace, built to host family of the Romanovs, some of the objects are exclusively were brought from Europe and Russia. 
  • Bahouddin Nakshband mausoleum and complex. Nakshband (1318-89) was the founder of the most influential Sufi brotherhood of Central Asia and he is the patron saint of Bukhara;

Return to the city and enjoy free time at bazaars to feel the spirit of The Silk Road. 
OPTIONAL: Visit to Silk Road Spices Tea House.

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. 
08:00 Depart to Samarkand by road. En route visit:

  • Gizjduvan Ceramics Workshop, learn about the school and style; 
  • 12th cc Rabat Malik Caravanserai and Sardoba;    

Upon arrival to Samarkand check-in to hotel. Time to fresh n up. 
Afternoon Guided tour in Samarkand, the capital of the Great Empire of Tamerlane, city praised by Medieval poets and historians: 

  • Gur-Emir mausoleum, the family vault of the Timurids
  • Registan Square consisting of Ulugbek, Sherdor and Tillya Kari Madrasah, the main attraction of Uzbekistan. Spend some time on this magnificent complex to feel the spirit

Optional: Enjoy evening performance at El Merosi Theatre.

Depart to Shakhrisabz, the birthplace of Tamerlane, on smaller cars, through the mountain pass Takhtakaracha and pasturelands of Khissar Range of Pamir Mountains.  Arrive and Guided tour visiting the magnificent architectural sights of the Timurids period: 

  • Entry Pylons of Ak Saray palace of Tamerlane, 
  • Dorus Saodat complex, Mausoleum of Djehangir and Khazrat Imam Mosque;
  • Dorut Tilovat, Kok Gumbaz Mosque and Mausoleum of Sheikh Shamsiddin Kulal;
  • Mausoleum Gumbazi Saidon;  
  • Kunduzak Quarter Mosque 

Return to Samarkand. Time on leisure. At night, take a tour to Gur Emir and Registan Square to capture best photos of illuminated historical monuments.
