The award ceremony for services to the Uzbek tourism industry took place in a festive atmosphere at the end of September.
Representatives from government agencies, public organizations, business communities, social workers, journalists, and Uzbek citizens living abroad were awarded the “Tourism Fidoyisi” badge.
The event was held in Tashkent and was timed to coincide with World Tourism Day, which is celebrated on September 27 every year. In his opening speech, the Minister of Ecology of Uzbekistan, Aziz Abdukhakimov, emphasized the importance of promoting tourism and the travel industry in order to strengthen economic growth and increase the country’s prestige on the international stage.
Umid Shadiyev, currently the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan, emphasized the significant achievements of the tourism industry, highlighting the successful implementation of key projects and the significance of the establishment of the “Tourism Fidoyisi” award. He emphasized the high level of contribution made by professionals to the growth of Uzbek tourism.
The minister drew attention to the fact that significant progress in tourism development has been made thanks to the special attention and support given by the head of state. The establishment of the award was an important step in the series of transformations carried out as part of the national tourism strategy.
Today, Uzbekistan is actively implementing programs to strengthen its tourism potential, attract more foreign visitors, and improve the quality of services provided. These initiatives play an important role in preserving cultural heritage, protecting natural resources, and modernizing tourism infrastructure.
