During the ITB Berlin international travel exhibition held in Berlin, Germany, the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) organized a summit of tourism ministers. The theme of the event was “Enhancing the Potential of Developing Destinations: From Opportunities to Results”. This was an important platform for government officials from various countries involved in tourism development, where practical approaches and strategies were presented to stimulate the sustainable growth of the travel industry.
During the conference, the current challenges in the tourism sector were discussed, including improving management mechanisms, reducing administrative barriers between agencies, expanding the investment landscape, training qualified professionals, implementing public-private partnerships, diversifying tourism routes, and increasing the attractiveness of various regions around the world.
The speech by Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, attracted special attention. Mr. Akkulov shared with the forum participants about the transformations taking place in the country's tourism sector. He emphasized the importance of reforms aimed at creating favorable conditions for investors, improving regional infrastructure, and promoting the involvement of local communities in tourism. It was noted that Uzbekistan aims to become an attractive destination for travelers due to its unique culture, historical heritage, and natural diversity.
